Seeds of Thought

Scripture in life

When we explore the scriptures, it is essential to think about how they apply to our everyday lives and personal growth. These are not just words from the past—they offer valuable guidance for how we connect with others and build meaningful relationships. How do these teachings influence the way we treat one another, strengthen our bonds, and face the challenges that come with relationships? By having open discussions, asking questions, and truly listening to one another, we can discover practical ways to apply these lessons to our lives—whether for today and tomorrow

Leading a small scripture study group can be a rewarding experience that not only enriches your own spiritual journey but also creates a nurturing environment for others to grow and learn. Together, we can sow the seeds of thought, cultivate a community of learners, and watch as the transformative power of the scriptures takes root and flourishes in our lives.
A seed takes root

How did this seed take root? Like in Genesis 1:11-12, where the earth brings forth life from seeds, God was stirring something new within a study community in the south of England. Peter, a member of this community, had spent nearly 20 years immersed in this way of studying. But in the middle of 2024, a question took hold of his heart—a question he could no longer ignore: How could he build on these two decades of experience to cultivate even more thriving small groups that bear fruit? That autumn, he stepped back from his study community, setting aside time to listen, reflect, and pray. As the months passed, what began as a quiet thought started to take root. The seed was growing.

At its core, this journey is about a deep longing—to see people grow in confidence, embracing scripture even when they don’t have all the answers. More than that, it’s about equipping others to lead and facilitate meaningful group discussions where God's Word comes alive.

But how to share this vision? The first steps have now been taken. The when, where, and who—that’s up to you. And I pray you’ll join this journey of discovery, as together, we bring forth the seed.

Growth stories
There are many people who have grown so much through their exploration of scripture in small groups. Here are some of their reflections.
“Studying the scripture as a group, getting into the original text and meanings, has opened up a richer understanding of Scripture which has enriched my daily walk with God.” Warren
“Diving into a text like this allows it to become a living participant in our dialogue. Its voice carries wisdom that resonates through time, enriching our modern experience of life in ways no other form of study can”. Jonathan

How do I begin to describe how much of an impact studying like this has had on me? I have learnt to read God's word much slower so that I can see the the multiple layers of meaning, to read between the lines of God's word and to appreciate His hand and Yeshua's presence all the way through from beginning to end. It has been such a rich experience and I treasure it and wish to continue growing in my study of God's word. Gaynor
